And I am back. Not that I was planning to take such a long break from this blog, it just sort of happened that way. And I'm not sure why. It wasn't for lack of knitting, there has been lots of knitting around here and general fiber love.
I have some new interests too. I'm not sure if I've shared about this particular magazine before,
This isn't the American version, it is the British Country Living one and SOOO much better (large bookstores sell it). It goes right along with wanting to live in the British countryside and have sheep and chickens. Well, last month there was an article on breadmaking:
Which led to:
And for the last month I have been baking bread. This new breadmaking lifestyle was helped out enormously by finding this book, Artisan Bread In Five Minutes A Day:
The bread from this book is so painfully easy to make, you have no idea.
What else happened during my Spring hiatus? The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival of course. Super crowded but fun. I met blogger Silvia in the Lamb Gyro food line. I've been reading her blog for over two years (but probably like you reading this, I lurk and don't leave comments). I think that her blog was the first knitting one I started reading.
I'm not sure what happened to all of my pictures from the Festival but here are a few
I call this one, 'the amount of Koigu I would have liked to have bought'.
The booth with mill ends of Koigu had so many women packed into it I'm glad no one yelled fire. I'm still not sure if what they were selling it for was even a good deal. Yes I bought some, just not as much as the picture above.
And of course, the day wouldn't have been complete without an alpaca (I think that they are really llamas but I don't want to tell the kids)

Welcome back. Lurking on blogs is fun, I would so agree! Happy breadmaking. Might have to try that recipe.
